THIS is the terrifying moment a BMW crashes head-on into traffic after a van driver makes a U-turn – triggering a dramatic five-car pile up.

The victims were rushed to hospital where they were treated for varying injuries.

According to police, the 55-year-old BMW driver crashed into five vehicles on the Dzhubga–Sochi highway in Russia on Tuesday.

Dashcam footage shows the vehicle trying to swerve the van before smashing head-on into another car.

The video shows debris flying across the road as cars dramatically crash into each other.

No injuries occurred involving the other vehicles, which included a Volkswagen, a Mercedes, a Nissan, and a Chery, as the driver of the van reportedly left the scene according to authorities.

Traffic was held at a standstill on the downhill double lane after the accident.

The press service from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Krasnodar Krai stated that the details of the incident are still being investigated.

It comes just days after a truck driver suddenly pulled a U-turn on a busy highway and killed three in a horrific T-bone crash.

Harjinder Singh, who has been residing illegally in the US since 2018, allegedly executed the fatal maneuver in an “Official Use Only” area on the Florida Turnpike.

With no time to stop and nowhere to turn, the minivan is believed to have collided with the commercial semi-truck at full speed, resulting in the deaths of the driver and two passengers.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles reported that troopers arrived on the scene just before 3 pm on August 12 to extract the victims from the van.

Terrifying footage shows the moment Singh blocked the highway causing the incoming Chrysler Town and Country minivan to slam into the lorry.

The obliterated minivan’s parts appear strewn across the toll road as rescue teams desperately try to retrieve the bodies.

The Florida Highway Patrol indicated that Singh crossed the northbound travel lanes to make the turn, at which point the people carrier, also heading north, collided with the truck.

It then became wedged under the left side of the trailer, killing two passengers instantly.

While the driver was pulled out of the vehicle alive, they tragically died in Lawnwood Hospital, Fort Pierce that evening.
