This is the terrifying moment a howling tornado rips through a Mississippi high school as catastrophic storms battered the state.
The huge twister was seen tearing apart Amory High School before quickly moving on during the brutal Friday night weather front.
A menacing low rumbling noise can be heard in the distance before the monster engulfed the institution and left it in tatters.
Incredibly, the lights remained on in the school corridor as the full force of the tornado hit on Friday night.
It comes as the names of some of the victims of the tornados were revealed as the death toll leaped to 26.

In the footage, a low rumble can be heard in the distance as the monster of the storm approached
Moments later, the tornado unleashed its fury as ceiling panels came crashing to the floor with foam insulation being blown along the corridor

Rain streamed into the hallways as wiring also came down from up above.
On the walls, work by students and posters put up by teachers appear to hold firm, as does pictures of the school staff, despite flapping around in the extreme winds.
The footage last for a full 20 seconds before the clip finally ends.
Two of the victims of the destructive tornadoes that ravaged Mississippi on Friday night have been identified.
Ethan Herndon, 33, and his one-year-old daughter, Riley Herndon, tragically lost their lives when a tornado hit their home in Wren, Mississippi.
Family and friends have identified the father and daughter while Ethan’s wife, Elizabeth, and their two other children, Brantley, 7, and Aubrey, 4, were also injured in the severe weather but managed to survive.

A GoFundMe created for the Herndon family states that the family is ‘physically and emotionally shattered,’ by the storms and the deaths.
‘They have suffered the most painful and terrifying loss any of us can imagine, and their needs are obvious and great,’ the fundraiser’s description reads.
According to the page, Elizabeth suffered injuries including a broken arm and leg as well as a dislocated hip when their home in Mississippi was hit by the tornado.
Brantley, is currently in the hospital with multiple broken bones, a lacerated liver, and a punctured lung.

The tornado outbreak, which produced around two dozen tornadoes, caused catastrophic damage to the area, leading to 26 deaths and countless injuries.
The severe weather caused widespread destruction, leaving homes and businesses in ruins and uprooting trees and downing power lines.
Emergency services are continuing to work tirelessly to assess the damage and provide aid to those affected by the storm.
The National Weather Service has warned that the threat of severe weather is not over, with further storms expected in the coming days.
