Over the weekend, Texas border officials detained three U.S. citizens at different border points, accusing them of child sex offenses, according to reports from authorities.

The arrests took place at entry points in Laredo, Del Rio, and Hidalgo, as confirmed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to Fox News Digital.

Donald R. Kusser, who oversees field operations for CBP’s Laredo Field Office, remarked, “These successive apprehensions underscore the vital role CBP plays in safeguarding our most vulnerable populations.”

Kusser further emphasized, “The capture of individuals wanted for serious offenses, such as child sexual assault or harm to a child, elderly, or disabled individual, signifies our commitment to public safety. We work closely with law enforcement to ensure justice is upheld and our communities are protected.”

The initial arrest took place on Saturday at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge in Laredo, where 64-year-old Rito Bueno was detained after his vehicle was sent for further inspection.

Once there, officers confirmed Bueno was wanted in Bexar County for aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was arrested and taken to the Webb County Jail.

The next day, Anthony Magana Mendoza, 22, was at the Anzalduas International Bridge that connects Mission, Texas, with Reynosa, Tamaulipas state, in Mexico when he was also referred for a second inspection.

Authorities verified his identity and arrested Mendoza for an arrest warrant for alleged assault/injury to a child, elderly or disabled person.

Jose Kaleb Juarez, 19, was taken into custody at the Del Rio International Bridge upon border personnel there learning of his warrant for alleged sexual abuse of a child.
