A father of three in Texas died on Sunday after a lightning strike hit him while he was golfing.
On June 8, Spencer Loalbo was playing golf with his father in Gunter, Texas, when he was struck by lightning, as reported by Gunter Police Chief Danny Jones to NBC DFW. Although severe thunderstorms were forecasted to arrive four hours later, a solitary storm cloud unexpectedly hovered over the golf course.
Lightning followed the storm cloud moving over the golf course, hitting Loalbo and killing him.
Kaylee Loalbo, Spencer’s wife, told the outlet that the lightning strike “came out of nowhere.”

“He was adored and would go to any lengths for them. But above all, he was incredibly FUN! Enjoying one-on-one moments with each of them on outings and dances. I’m a stay-at-home mom but occasionally help out at weddings,” said Kaylee Loalbo. “Their most cherished moments were when they could cover his face in apple sauce.”
Despite losing her husband, Kaylee Loalbo said she is looking to God for guidance and protection.
“We are still trusting him and know that we have one another and a faithful God that loves and will never leave us,” she said.
A GoFundMe campaign, created by Spencer Loalbo’s family and friends, highlighted him as a “dedicated follower of Jesus, a devoted husband, a proud father, a beloved son, a steadfast friend, and a generous soul.”

“His life was a reflection of his faith—serving others, uplifting those in need, and always putting his family and friends before himself,” it continued.
