The Department of Defense (DOD) has taken to social media platform X to affirm its commitment to supporting law enforcement and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in carrying out their duties to safeguard the American public.

“U.S. military forces are present on-site to guarantee the protection of federal agents,” stated the DOD in their post. “Our role is to ensure the protection of federal law enforcement by establishing a security perimeter around the operation.”

The Department’s post includes Fox News’ Bill Melugin, who wrote about the raid in the sanctuary city of LA.

“BREAKING: We are with hundreds of federal agents and military as a massive federal immigration enforcement operation is underway in the MacArthur Park area of the sanctuary city of Los  Angeles, an area with heavy MS-13 influence,” the post read. “Mayor Bass has demanded raids stop, Feds respond with one of the largest yet, including Border Patrol agents on horseback. Protesters already showing up.”

RedState’s Sister Toldjah wrote about what happened when Bass showed up and demanded the raid end.

“They need to leave, and they need to leave right now!” Bass told members of the press.

The mayor also tried to claim that before the agents showed up, there were dozens of kids playing in the park. However, those claims appeared to be shut down by Blaze immigration reporter Julio Rosas:

“I would be shocked if there were kids playing in McArthur Park before. The whole area is covered in trash, human waste, and a bunch of drugged-out people,” Rosas’ post read.

Toldjah noted the AP report on the raid and the National Guard’s presence.

Following Bass’ hysterical stunt at the raid, the Los Angeles Mayor revealed that she spoke with Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino, who later told Melugin what he thought about Bass’ actions, RedState reported.

As RedState’s Bonchie reported:

RedState’s Sister Toldjah also reported on Monday about the man who attempted to ambush Border Patrol agents in McAllen, TX, resulting in the death of the shooter along with injuries to two officers and a border patrol employee.
