Westside apartment shooting leaves three people injured

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three individuals are recovering from gunshot injuries after being shot by at least two assailants during an altercation at an apartment complex on Jacksonville’s Westside late Sunday evening, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigators. 

JSO investigators said officers responded to the 1200 block of Labelle Street around 11 p.m. Sunday to reports of a person shot. 

Officers discovered a young man in his late teens with a gunshot wound, and he was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police stated that two additional individuals were also taken to the hospital by private transport, each sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

According to investigators, the trio was walking through the apartment complex when several unidentified individuals confronted them. Amid the heated encounter, at least two of those individuals began shooting. The victims were unable to provide a description of the suspects, police reported.
