Eric Swalwell’s prominent legal representative is vigorously defending him against a recent explosive rape allegation. The accusation has been directed at the former congressman, prompting a forceful response from his legal team.
In an interview with NewsNation on Wednesday, attorney Sara Azari firmly stated, “Regret is not rape.” She elaborated on her standpoint, emphasizing, “The fact that, whether a day later or years later, feelings of shame or regret might emerge due to personal circumstances, such as infidelity, does not equate to rape.”
The controversy intensified as Swalwell resigned from Congress on Wednesday, amid a swirl of grave sexual misconduct allegations. Among these claims is a particularly disturbing account from Beverly Hills model Lonna Drewes. She alleges that in 2018, Swalwell rendered her unconscious after allegedly drugging her, then proceeded to assault her.
