Ali Larijani, a prominent Iranian leader, delivered a stark warning on Saturday, declaring that President Trump must “face consequences” in the wake of US and Israeli operations that have targeted key Iranian figures.

As the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and a former officer of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Larijani took to X to state, “We will not let #Trump escape accountability; he must face consequences for martyring our leader and citizens. This is no trivial matter; we will ensure a fitting response.”

In retaliation for last Saturday’s severe assault on Tehran that resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran has been launching missiles and drones at US bases situated around the Gulf.

Larijani’s message coincided with President Trump’s participation in a solemn ceremony at Delaware’s Dover Air Force Base, where he received the remains of six American soldiers who died in an Iranian strike on a US base in Kuwait.

Originating from a notable family in Iraq, Larijani has been involved in previous nuclear discussions and is viewed as a lasting figure within the regime.

Earlier Saturday, Trump announced in a TruthSocial post that Iran would be “hit very hard” and said that areas and groups of people not previously considered targets were now  “under serious consideration for complete destruction and certain death.”
