What to watch over the holidays: Movies and shows of 2025

The holiday season offers the perfect opportunity to dive into a variety of films and series you might have missed.

Leading the cinematic offerings is “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” the latest installment in the epic saga that began in 2009. This film explores new visual and emotional depths, pushing the boundaries of storytelling.

Director James Cameron has shared his vision for the movie, stating, “I wanted to explore how people process hurt, loss, and grief, and how these experiences can lead to either downward spirals or healing.”

This third chapter in the Avatar series follows the Sully family as they navigate their grief and battle for survival against a formidable enemy and the relentless wave of human colonization.

“Avatar: Fire and Ash” is currently available to stream on Disney+ for those eager to continue the journey.

Additionally, the second season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is now streaming, taking viewers on an unprecedented adventure alongside the demigods.

This season welcomes a new character, Percy’s half-brother, Tyson the Cyclops, and as the season builds, so do the stakes.

New episodes drop every Wednesday on Disney+.

Taylor Swift fans are in a frenzy after the first four episodes of her ‘End of an Era’ docuseries.

So far, fans have watched the biggest moments of her tour unfold and got an all-access look at her love story with Travis Kelce, something Swift reveals she thought she’d never find.

The final two episodes of the docuseries drop on December 26th.

If you’re looking for a good read, co-anchor of 20/20 Deborah Roberts is stepping off-screen for her latest venture.

Her new book, ‘Sisters Loved and Treasured,’ focuses entirely on sisterly bonds and talks about the bond she shares with her seven sisters, plus features stories from 100 women.

Disney is the parent company of this station.
