Burning Man homicide rocks festival as police ask for public’s help after man found in ‘pool of blood’

Authorities are seeking assistance from the public to help identify a man found “lying in a pool of blood” during the well-known Burning Man art and music festival over the past weekend.

The homicide occurred on Aug. 30, between 8 and 9:30 p.m. local time, according to the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office.

This Labor Day weekend event attracted tens of thousands of “Burners,” or attendees dedicated to constructing a temporary city from scratch in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. Officials believe that participants may have crucial information that could help identify the victim.

“At this time, no information is too small to disregard,” Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen added.

According to The Associated Press, Burning Man representatives stated that they are cooperating with law enforcement and encouraged attendees to avoid obstructing the ongoing investigation.

“The safety and well-being of our community are paramount,” the statement said, adding that support services are available to participants.

The organization did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
