Three women, one teenage girl shot at large gathering in Magnolia Gardens

Jacksonville police reported a mass shooting that erupted following a gathering of over 15 individuals, allegedly convened to resolve a conflict tied to a romantic entanglement.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Wednesday night, a violent incident unfolded in the Magnolia Gardens neighborhood, resulting in gunshot wounds to four individuals, including a teenage girl, as confirmed by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

During a press conference, Lieutenant Frederick Dash from the Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit detailed that officers arrived on Begonia Road at approximately 6 p.m. and discovered the four victims. Among the injured were three women, ages 47, 22, and 20, along with a 17-year-old girl, each having sustained at least one gunshot wound.

A representative from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department reported that one of the women is currently in critical condition, though no fatalities have been reported to date.

Lieutenant Dash explained that preliminary findings revealed the crowd had assembled on the street due to tensions arising from a romantic dispute involving some members of the group.

Authorities are actively searching for three men to assist in their inquiries. The suspects were described as black males donning dark clothing and surgical masks, who reportedly fled in a silver SUV shortly after the shooting began.

The exact motivation for the shooting, nor the number of shooters, was not immediately known. Lt. Dash said it is not believed to have been gang-related.

Anyone with additional information on the shooting or any suspects is asked to contact JSO directly at 904-630-0500 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
