FHP: Two Jacksonville men killed in crash on I-10 near Stockton Street

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a tragic incident unfolded when a man was thrown from a 2016 Lexus sedan during a crash.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Late Wednesday night, two men from Jacksonville lost their lives in a collision on Interstate 10 near Stockton Street, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at 11:51 p.m. when a 45-year-old man from Jacksonville was driving a 2016 Lexus sedan eastbound on I-10. As he approached mile marker 362 in the left lane, he attempted to switch lanes, causing the vehicle to veer off the road.

The vehicle collided with a Florida Department of Transportation sign, which led to it overturning.

Subsequently, the Lexus struck an overhead support sign. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.

Authorities confirmed that both individuals in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 31-year-old man, also lost his life in the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol has not yet released the names of the victims.
