Authorities revealed on Monday that a woman discovered deceased inside a black plastic bag in a Brooklyn apartment had been dismembered. The case has been classified as a homicide, although the exact cause of Michelle Montgomery’s death, aged 39, remains undetermined.
The grim discovery occurred around 9:35 a.m. on Sunday, when workers from the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) stumbled upon the scene at a Borinquen Houses complex located on Bushwick Avenue, near Seigel Street in East Williamsburg.
Police have identified Montgomery as a resident of the Gowanus Houses, situated roughly four miles away from where she was found.
The building where Montgomery’s remains were located has a notorious past. In 2008, it was the site of a harrowing double murder, where a woman was fatally shot by her abusive partner. In a tragic turn of events, the woman’s father then shot and killed the boyfriend in an act of retribution.
