Double shooting in Bradford County leaves 2 dead, officials say

The Bradford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what appears to be a case of ongoing domestic violence involving a separated couple.

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — A tragic incident unfolded Thursday morning in Bradford County, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials have indicated that there was a history of domestic issues between the estranged husband and wife involved.

At around 5:15 a.m., the Bradford County Communications Center received a “911 hang-up call” originating from NE 6th Lane in Starke.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of Loyd Alan Keer at the entrance of a home, having sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Nearby, they found Rachael Renee Kerr with a gunshot wound to her neck in the yard. Despite efforts by authorities and medical personnel to save her life, she was pronounced dead shortly after paramedics arrived.

However, shortly after paramedics arrived, she was pronounced deceased.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the community.
