On a tragic Sunday morning in Hammonton, New Jersey, a helicopter collision resulted in one fatality and left another individual critically injured, according to local authorities.
At around 11:25 a.m., the Hammonton Police Department received emergency calls reporting an aviation accident involving two helicopters on the 100 block of Basin Road. Responders, including police, fire, and EMS teams, quickly arrived at the scene, where they found one helicopter engulfed in flames, which they managed to extinguish.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have been informed and are set to investigate this unfortunate incident further, as per the police statement.
New Jersey’s Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way shared via social media platform X that she has been briefed on the midair collision and is staying updated on the developments.
