The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) has launched an inquiry following an incident on Saturday in Osage County where several officers were shot during a domestic violence call.
KBI representatives reported that the shooting took place around 10:30 a.m. local time at a residence situated north of Carbondale.
According to KBI accounts, deputies and troopers had been present at the location for several minutes before shots were fired.

Authorities confirmed that four law enforcement officers sustained injuries in the gunfire.
Specifically, the injured included three deputies from the Osage County Sheriff’s Office and one trooper from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The male suspect involved was killed during the incident, while another man was injured but is currently in stable condition.
Colonel Erik Smith said during a news conference Saturday the three deputies and trooper were taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, but the trooper was later transferred to a hospital in Kansas City for further treatment.

The identity of the man killed during the shooting has not yet been released.
There is no active threat to the public, according to authorities.
The Topeka Police Department (TPD) confirmed on social media it sent officers to assist, and none of its officers were injured.

The TPD and KHP referred Fox News Digital inquiries to the KBI, which did not immediately respond to additional inquiries.
