In the course of Operation Epic Fury targeting Iran, three American military personnel have lost their lives, while five others have sustained severe injuries, as reported by the US military.
Additionally, several service members with less severe injuries, such as minor shrapnel wounds and concussions, have received medical attention and are preparing to resume their duties.
“Major combat operations are ongoing, and our response efforts remain active,” stated CENTCOM in a Sunday morning update.
The identities of these “fallen warriors” will be disclosed by Central Command 24 hours post-notification of their families.
The exact location of these fatalities has yet to be specified.
In retaliation for the operations that eliminated significant figures in the Iranian hierarchy, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran has launched attacks on US bases throughout the Middle East.
Follow The Post’s coverage of the United States’ airstrikes on Iran:
The Islamic State launched missiles and attack drones on US allies in the region, including United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait — which are all home to US military bases.
Military officials in those countries confirmed that intercepted missiles fired towards them, but falling debris has caused widespread damage.
At least one person was killed and 11 others injured on strikes at airports in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE.
In addition to Khamenei, Iran’s ex-president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who had previously called for the extermination of Israel, was also killed in the US-Israeli military operation.
