A tragic incident unfolded at Eisenhower Park on Long Island, New York, as a shooting claimed the life of a 15-year-old and left two others injured. The authorities have taken two individuals into custody and characterized the event as a gang-related altercation.
According to the Nassau County Police Department, the shooting erupted around 8:20 p.m. near the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Merrick Avenue. The sequence of events leading to the violence was reportedly triggered by a barbecue gathering publicized on social media, which drew the attention of gang members.
Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder explained to reporters, as noted by CBS New York, that a disagreement between two individuals escalated into gunfire. This confrontation resulted in three people being hit by bullets, including the teenage victim.

Following the shooting, the injured were quickly rushed to a nearby hospital. Sadly, the 15-year-old boy succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead. The incident underscores the grave consequences of gang violence and the profound impact it has on the community.
Two people then became involved in an argument and shots were fired, Ryder said.
