A Houston, Texas man was charged with murder after allegedly killing an 11-year-old who played a “ding-dong ditch” prank.
Houston officials announced that Gonzalo Leon Jr., aged 42, faces murder charges following the alleged shooting of 11-year-old Julian Guzman on Saturday, while the child was fleeing. Unfortunately, Guzman succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on Sunday.
Before the incident, Guzman reportedly rang several doorbells in the vicinity and then ran from the homes, as detailed by officials. A witness recounted observing Guzman sprint away from a residence just prior to being allegedly shot.
Initially, Leon Jr. was held at the location by authorities but subsequently released. However, he was eventually apprehended on Tuesday by the Houston Police Department’s SWAT team and placed in custody at Harris County Jail.
