Russian military plane crash in Crimea kills 29 people

In a tragic incident, a Russian military plane crashed in Crimea, resulting in the deaths of six crew members and 23 passengers, according to reports from Russian news agencies citing the Defense Ministry. The crash was reported early Wednesday.

The aircraft involved was an An-26 military transport plane, which was on a routine flight over the Crimean Peninsula. This region was controversially annexed by Russia from Ukraine back in 2014, as noted by the reports.

Communication with the aircraft was lost by the military around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
