A tragic incident unfolded on Monday morning when a 15-year-old student at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Bulverde, Texas, shot a teacher before turning the gun on himself, according to local authorities.
The unsettling episode took place at the high school located in Bulverde, a suburb situated to the north of San Antonio. The Comal County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the details of the incident.

The teenage suspect, who wounded the teacher, did not survive the incident, officials stated. Meanwhile, the injured teacher was promptly transported to a hospital in San Antonio. At this time, there is no update on her medical condition.
The circumstances surrounding the student’s death have not been disclosed by the sheriff’s office.

The high school was placed on lockdown. Law enforcement officials later said the building had been secured and that students and staff were transported by bus to Bulverde Middle School.
Parents were asked to bring identification to pick up their children.
Authorities have not identified the teen or the student involved in the shooting.
