Man shot, killed in parking lot of Brunswick restaurant, police say


Tragic Shooting Incident Claims Life in Brunswick Restaurant Parking Lot, Authorities Report

Authorities in Brunswick have confirmed that a suspect has been apprehended following an early morning incident.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — In the early hours of Sunday, a man lost his life during a shooting in the parking area of a local eatery, leading to the swift arrest of one suspect by the Brunswick police.

The Brunswick Police Department reported that officers were present at The Jerk Shack, situated at 4420 Altama Ave., around 2 a.m. As they were dispersing people from the parking lot, they heard a gunshot.

Upon investigation, officers discovered a man who had been shot. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police disclosed that the suspect was detained shortly after the incident, noting that the restaurant was not operational at the time of the shooting.

The authorities stated they will withhold the victim’s name until his family has been informed.

“The Georgia Bureau of Investigation assisted with processing the scene, we thank both the GBI and the Glynn County Police Department for their response and support,” the police department wrote in a release. “This investigation is developing.
