Woman lured to puppy sale shot, body set on fire in South Carolina, police say

A tragic incident in South Carolina has come to light where a woman was fatally shot, and her remains were set ablaze after being deceived into a fictitious puppy sale, according to police reports.

In connection with this heinous crime, authorities have apprehended two individuals: 19-year-old Iryanna Jarissa Fleming and 31-year-old Daquinn Taheen Thomas. On January 23, they were formally charged with murder, first-degree arson, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, as confirmed by jail documentation.

The investigation remains active, and officials have indicated that further charges may be forthcoming.

In addition to Fleming and Thomas, 31-year-old Nikko Carraway is also facing murder charges related to the death of Dana Kinlaw, a resident of South Carolina, as noted by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Florence County Sheriff TJ Joye revealed that Dana Kinlaw, aged 40, was enticed to a secluded property by Fleming, who was acquainted with her, on the false premise of purchasing a puppy. There, she was tragically shot in the head, and her body was subsequently doused with a liquid and set on fire inside a vehicle.

She was then shot in the head before a liquid substance was poured on her body and ignited inside the vehicle.

Deputies were called to Atlantic Road near Springbranch Road in Effingham, South Carolina, on Jan. 22 where a vehicle was found on fire with a deceased person inside.

Joye told Fox News Digital that investigators believe the killing was an act of retaliation tied to another murder in neighboring Darlington County in which Kinlaw’s son is believed to have been involved.

WMBF News reported that a third suspect, Nikko Carraway, 31, was arrested on Wednesday and faces the same charges as Fleming and Thomas.

All three are being held without bond.
