Trump rips Nancy Guthrie sheriff for revealing high-tech FBI 'sniffer' searching for her pacemaker

On Thursday, President Trump criticized the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, emphasizing the need to shift media attention to different topics after weeks of intense coverage regarding her suspected abduction.

Nancy Guthrie, who is the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, host of NBC’s “Today” show, vanished on February 1. Security footage captured a masked individual at her home in the Tucson area on the day she went missing.

President Trump expressed confusion over law enforcement’s decision to disclose to the media their plan to use aircraft with Bluetooth capabilities to track Guthrie’s pacemaker.

“I was concerned when they discussed targeting the pacemaker publicly before even initiating the search,” Trump commented to reporters aboard Air Force One while traveling to Georgia.

He continued, “If it were possible to track her that way, an alert could tip off the person responsible, potentially thwarting the strategy. It seems like a questionable move from a strategic standpoint.”

Trump concluded by saying, “We need to begin focusing on other matters as well and see how things unfold. This is truly a tragic situation.”

The FBI has assisted in the case but has not commandeered the investigation amid alleged missteps by local law enforcement.

Trump told The Post Monday that he wants Guthrie’s captors to face the death penalty if she is not returned alive.
