DONALD Trump has warned Elon Musk he could be forced out of the US after a dramatic row between the two ramped up.
The president said he could consider deporting Elon Musk after the South African-born billionaire slammed his flagship “One Big Beautiful Bill”.
When White House reporters asked if he would deport the South African-born entrepreneur and US citizen, Trump replied: “We’ll have to take a look.”
The president even threatened to unleash the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) “monster” to “eat” the tech billionaire.
He said: “We might have to put DOGE on Elon. You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon.”
Trump doubled down on the threat when he said he believed Musk was attacking his so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill”.
He claimed Musk was annoyed that it had dropped measures to support electric vehicles (EVs).
“He’s losing his EV mandate,” he mentioned. “He’s quite upset over it, but trust me, he stands to lose much more than just that. Elon risks losing a lot more, that’s clear.”
On his Truth Social network late Monday, Trump expressed similar views, stating that “without subsidies, Elon might have to shut down and return to South Africa.”
Musk, the wealthiest individual globally, was a significant supporter of Trump’s 2024 election campaign and was frequently seen alongside the newly elected president.
