In a celebratory message on Sunday, former President Donald Trump extended his congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers following their thrilling 2025 World Series victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Trump expressed his eagerness to host the team at the White House.

“Congratulations to the L.A. Dodgers on a game won by incredible CHAMPIONS!!! A lesser group of men would never have been able to win that game, or Game 6, for that matter. So many stars made it all happen. Also, congratulations to ownership. What a great job they have done. SEE YOU ALL AT THE WHITE HOUSE!!!” Trump shared on Truth Social.

The Dodgers clinched their victory in Game 7 on Saturday, securing a 5-4 win in an intense 11-inning showdown. This triumph marks their second consecutive World Series championship, following their 2024 victory, and makes them the first team to achieve back-to-back titles since the New York Yankees’ three-peat from 1998 to 2000.

Trump, who was the Republican presidential candidate at the time, also lauded the Dodgers’ 2024 success against the New York Yankees, commending their perseverance, skill, and “movie star” charisma.

Earlier in April, Trump hosted the Dodgers at the White House, using the occasion to subtly criticize California’s Democratic senators, Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff, who were absent from the event. He refrained from naming them directly.

“We have a couple senators here. I just don’t particularly like them, so I won’t introduce them,” Trump remarked, after acknowledging other California lawmakers who were present.

The Dodgers were the second champion sports team to visit the White House since Trump returned to office, following the NHL’s Florida Panthers. It is a return to tradition after many sports teams skipped visiting the White House during Trump’s first term.

The team’s recent win also comes after Trump deployed thousands of National Guard troops to the City of Angels in June as immigration protests erupted that turned violent at times.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and the state’s attorney general have challenged the deployment as unlawful.
