MS NOW's Lemire: Some MN Fraud Probes Began Under Biden, But Trump Wants to Change Subject

During Wednesday’s edition of “MS NOW Reports,” Jonathan Lemire, a co-host and writer for The Atlantic, highlighted that certain fraud investigations in Minnesota were initiated during the Biden administration. He noted, however, that these inquiries have now transformed into a significant political issue, with the current administration eager to shift attention from the unfavorable news surrounding it.

Lemire pointed out, “This issue has undeniably turned political. Notably, some of these Minnesota investigations were launched under a Democratic administration. There are growing concerns about how the focus on Minnesota’s sizable Somali immigrant community might be reinforcing the administration’s stringent deportation rhetoric.”

He further elaborated, “There seems to be a concerted effort to divert attention from the negative headlines enveloping the White House. Vice President Vance and others have persistently emphasized this issue in recent discussions, underlining its political weight.”
