Trump vows to catch 'leaker' who revealed US could not initially reach F-15 pilot in Iran

On Monday, President Trump made a firm commitment to identify the source responsible for leaking information about the U.S. military’s inability to immediately rescue a second F-15 pilot downed over Iran. During a briefing at the White House, he reiterated the harrowing details of the airman’s dramatic rescue over the weekend.

“We’re making every effort to pinpoint the individual responsible for this leak,” Trump stated. He expressed concern that the premature disclosure alerted Iran to the situation, saying, “Iran was unaware of the missing pilot until the leak occurred.”

Trump further explained, “We believe we can uncover the source by approaching the media outlet that published the information. We will demand they reveal the leaker in the interest of national security, or face legal consequences.”

The President described the increased difficulty of the rescue mission due to the leak, emphasizing, “The operation became significantly more challenging because of this disclosure. The country, Iran, offered a substantial reward for the pilot’s capture, which raised the stakes considerably.”

He emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “We need to identify this leaker, as their actions have serious implications. While they may not have grasped the full extent of the damage caused, national security is at risk, and the individual responsible will face jail time if they do not cooperate.”
