WASHINGTON — President Trump has indicated to The Post that he might summon Congress for an uncommon special session to tackle the ongoing 45-day funding gap affecting the Department of Homeland Security.
“It’s something we’re considering,” Trump remarked to The Post.
Congress is currently on a break until April 14, which means DHS employees would have endured nearly two months without pay by then.
Trump noted any decision on this matter is unlikely before Easter, which falls on April 5.
“Perhaps we’ll allow them to enjoy Easter,” he joked.
