'Going to Be a Big Problem for Him': Trump Smacks Down Greenland PM After He Says He ‘Chooses Denmark’

In a bold move, President Trump has issued a stern warning to Greenland’s Prime Minister, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, regarding the United States’ interest in acquiring the island. Trump remarked that Nielsen’s resistance to U.S. interests could pose significant challenges for him.

On Tuesday, when asked about Nielsen’s recent comments favoring Denmark over the U.S., Trump responded emphatically. He stated, “Well, that’s their issue. I disagree with him. I don’t know who he is or much about him, but that stance will be problematic for him.”

Nielsen has been vocal this week as he prepares for a meeting at the White House on Wednesday. This meeting will involve Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and delegations from Denmark and Greenland. Notably, Greenland is a self-governing territory under the Danish kingdom.

Earlier in the week, Nielsen made headlines by requesting NATO’s protection for Greenland against a potential U.S. invasion. This plea was met with skepticism, as the U.S. is a leading force within NATO. Nielsen’s request essentially called for protection from the very nation that spearheads the alliance.

President Trump addressed this peculiar request in a Truth Social post on Wednesday, emphasizing that Greenland is crucial to U.S. national security. He mentioned that the territory plays a vital role in the construction of what he referred to as the “Golden Dome.”

Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark. As a part of the Realm, Greenland is a member of NATO, and the defense of Greenland must therefore be insured through NATO.”

In case the Greenland PM hasn’t been paying attention of late, the United States is NATO and NATO is the United States. We fund it, we staff, and we decided when and where its forces will be deployed. Nielsen essentially asked the U.S. to defend Greenland from a U.S. invasion.

President Trump addressed Nielsen’s odd appeal to NATO in a Wednesday morning Truth Social post, reiterating that the “United States needs Greenland for the purpose of National Security,” stating the territory, “is vital for the Golden Dome that we are building.”
