A meteorologist from New Orleans, Louisiana, was taken into custody early Sunday morning due to domestic abuse allegations, as reported by authorities. It’s alleged that he got into a physical altercation with his girlfriend, striking her “multiple times” while her children were in the vicinity.

The arrest documents accessed by Fox 8 indicate that the altercation began after the WDSU Chief Meteorologist, Devon Lucie, and his girlfriend, who had been in a relationship with him for four years, visited a festival. At some point, they started arguing, leading Lucie to leave her at the event venue, which was approximately 6 miles from New Orleans, “without a way to return home.”

Subsequently, the woman managed a ride home from her mother. Since she didn’t have a key to their shared residence, she reportedly used a tool to “pry the door open,” and the dispute continued.

With her children resting on the living room couch, detectives allege that Lucie entered their bedroom and “punched her several times.”

WDSU Chief Meteorologist Devon Lucie is now facing charges for domestic abuse, child endangerment, and failing to provide identification, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Lucie had several cuts to his face, a jail booking picture shows.

When approached by the police, Lucie allegedly “refused” to reveal his identity, including his name and birthdate, and declined to wear clothing or shoes. As a result, he was charged with felony domestic abuse battery involving child endangerment and misdemeanor resisting an officer by refusing to provide identification.
