Two individuals sustained injuries in a shooting incident following a large altercation at the Santa Monica Pier on Sunday night, according to local authorities.
The Santa Monica Police Department responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunshots around 9 p.m.
According to investigators, a dispute involving several people escalated just before the shots were fired, as reported by ABC7.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the two people hit by gunfire were not critically injured. They were initially treated at the scene and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for further care. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed.
At this time, authorities have not identified the cause of the confrontation or the individuals involved in the melee.
Officials have not yet determined what led to the altercation or who was involved in the brawl.
Police said parts of the pier could be temporarily closed as officers continue investigating.
