Trump threatens to federalize DC after ex-DOGE employee 'Big Balls' violently beaten

Authorities have announced the arrest of two teenagers linked to a violent attack on a former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) worker, which reportedly occurred during an attempted carjacking in the nation’s capital over the weekend.

A 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, both from Hyattsville, Maryland, are now facing charges of unarmed carjacking, according to Washington D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department on Tuesday. Their identities have not been disclosed due to their juvenile status.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing, with multiple suspects still outstanding.

The incident involved the victim, known as Edward Coristine or “Big Balls,” who was assaulted around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday by a group of teenagers in Logan Circle, a neighborhood in the city. According to authorities, the teens attempted to carjack him and a woman, identified by police as his partner.

Former DOGE head Elon Musk weighed in on X, sharing more of the story.

“Recently, a group of roughly twelve young men attempted to assault a woman in her car at night in DC,” Musk stated. “A @Doge team member witnessed this, intervened to help her, and was severely beaten, suffering a concussion, but he managed to save her. It’s time to put a federal oversight on DC.”

The president said it appears criminals are “not afraid” of the police, because “nothing ever happens to them.”

“Washington, D.C. must be safe, clean, and attractive for all Americans and, crucially, for the world to witness,” he emphasized in the post. “If D.C. doesn’t improve its conditions swiftly, we may have no option but to take Federal control of the City, govern it correctly, and warn criminals that their actions will no longer be tolerated.”
