Tyrese Haliburton pulled out all of the stops to propose to his college sweetheart, Jade Jones.
The Pacers’ All-Star guard, who recently underwent surgery for an Achilles injury sustained during Game 7 of the NBA Finals, accompanied Jones on a visit to Iowa State University, the place where they first encountered each other. There, at Hilton Coliseum, Haliburton proposed.
“The location where our journey began and where our new chapter unfolds❤️💍,” the couple announced in a shared Instagram post, including images from the unforgettable occasion, on Monday.
Haliburton and Jones began dating while they were students at Iowa State, where he played college basketball and she was a cheerleader.
They celebrated six years together in April.
Haliburton, who was wearing a medical boot, ditched his mobility scooter for the proposal and photos ops in front of the Iowa State University sign.
The Cyclones gym was decorated with light up letters that said, “Will you marry me” as well as rose petals, balloons and floating candles.
Jones flashed her massive oval-shaped diamond ring in a few images.
They celebrated the engagement with an intimate gathering at a local bar, surrounded by friends and family, as documented in photos and videos Jones shared on her Instagram Stories.
Halburton and Jones posed with his former Iowa State teammates Georges Niang and Nazareth Jersey Mitrou-Long for a photo, which was shared by the Cyclones.
Jones has publicly supported Haliburton throughout his career, including his injury, suffered in the first quarter of Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
The Thunder beat the Pacers 103-91 last month to win the franchise’s first NBA championship since relocating to Oklahoma City.
The influencer is a staple at Pacers home games, and is known for her custom gameday fits.
The couple, who is close friends with Fever star Caitlin Clark, often attend WNBA games.
