Eric Swalwell has stepped back from the public eye following severe accusations of sexual assault leveled against him by multiple women. While he has taken to social media to firmly deny these claims, he has otherwise kept a low profile after withdrawing from the gubernatorial race and resigning from Congress under a cloud of disgrace.
Swalwell was expelled from the opulent home of his former billionaire associate, Stephen Cloobeck, on Sunday. It was there that he recorded a resolute video, branding the allegations as “flat out false.” Despite these assertions, his Washington, D.C. office remains abandoned, with mail accumulating outside. The office still bears signs of support for Ukraine and the Jewish community, reading “We stand with Ukraine” and “Am Yisrael Chi.”
Efforts to reach Swalwell for comment have gone unanswered, as he has not responded to inquiries from The Post.
In a statement released by his attorney, Sara Azari, Swalwell condemned the accusations as a “political hit job.” This came after Lonna Drewes, a second accuser, publicly claimed that he raped her in a West Hollywood hotel during a dramatic press conference.
Swalwell, through attorney Sara Azari, issued another defiant statement Tuesday slamming the allegations against him as a “political hit job” after a second woman, Lonna Drewes, claimed he raped her in a West Hollywood hotel in a bombshell press conference.

No one answered the door at Swalwell’s claimed residence in Livermore, Calif., after he was first accused of sexually assaulting a former staffer on Friday.
The husband and father of three has a $1.2 million family home in Washington, DC, but claimed a Livermore address linked to a political ally as his California residence during his ill-fated guberatorial bid.
Livermore neighbors previously told The Post they’d never seen Swalwell in the area, though he racked up charges at hotels in San Francisco and Pleasanton.
Swalwell’s home Washington, DC was the target of a mortgage fraud probe after federal officials alleged he falsely claimed it as his primary residence when securing loans.
