Breaking: VA Officials Report 'Premeditated Stabbing' of Corrections Officers by MS-13 Gang Inmates

Late Friday evening, news broke that the Virginia Department of Corrections reported members of the notorious MS-13 gang, designated as a terrorist group by the Trump administration and primarily consisting of individuals in the U.S. illegally, attacked correctional officers in a state prison on Friday morning, as multiple sources confirmed:

“Five of those responsible for this brutal incident should not have been in the country to begin with,” stated VADOC Director Chad Dotson in a release.

Officials also noted that another inmate allegedly involved in the assault, who is serving a sentence for second-degree murder, is a U.S. citizen. The MS-13 gang members, based on the release, have been previously convicted of violent crimes such as rape and murder.

Dotson’s statement continued:

“Every single day, our officers put their lives on the line to ensure public safety for the more than 8.8 million people across the Commonwealth. This attack is an example of the dangers they face when they show up to work every day. Our officers are heroes’ and I commend the team at Wallens Ridge for their swift response.”

Here is what we know about the victims’ condition–and thankfully, none of the injuries are fatal:

Five officers were taken to outside hospitals following the attack, with three of those officers, including two who sustained minor injuries while responding to the blitz, have since been released.

Two others remain hospitalized in stable condition, officials said.

Fox News’ Bill Melugin shared the breaking report via his X account:

He wrote:

BREAKING: Three Virginia Dept. of Corrections officers were stabbed in a state prison today in what the state says was a premeditated attack involving 5 MS-13 gang members, all of whom are Salvadoran illegal aliens who have been convicted of violent crimes, such as murder & rape.

The investigation into the heinous attack is ongoing, at the time of this writing.

As this is a breaking story, RedState will provide updates as more information becomes available.
