The U.S. Marshals Service revealed on Wednesday that a fugitive from the Dominican Republic, wanted for a 2024 quadruple homicide near Rochester in Irondequoit, New York, has been apprehended.
Marshals captured 31-year-old Luis Francisco Soriano in Puerto Rico, where he reportedly escaped after allegedly murdering four individuals, including two young children aged 2 and 4, according to a press release from the USMS.
“This operation exemplifies outstanding work by the Deputy U.S. Marshals of the U.S. Marshals Service, on both a national and international scale,” stated Wilmer Ocasio-Ibarra, the U.S. Marshal for the District of Puerto Rico, on Wednesday. “It deserves commendation, and it is reassuring to our communities that this fugitive has been taken into custody and will face the legal system.”
“Every case is important to us, but this one not only deeply impacted our communities in New York and Puerto Rico, it shook our entire nation. The horrific nature of this crime, which resulted in the tragic death of a family, including two innocent children, rocked the very foundation of our society governed by law and order.”
Soriano will remain in Dominican custody pending extradition hearings. (USMS)
He faces four counts of second-degree murder and drug charges in the United States.
