U.S. women’s hockey captain Hilary Knight has announced her engagement in a heartwarming proposal video shared on social media. The video, which features Knight presenting a sleek silver ring, captures the moment she proposed to fellow Olympian Brittany Bowe.

WASHINGTON — Exciting news from the world of sports: Hilary Knight, a celebrated figure in U.S. women’s hockey, is set to tie the knot!

In the video, Knight expresses the significance of their shared Olympic journey, captioning the post with, “Olympics brought us together. This one made us forever.”

As the captain of the U.S. women’s hockey team, Knight prepares to lead her squad against Canada in the gold medal match on Thursday. She also holds the distinction of being tied for the most goals scored in U.S. women’s Olympic hockey history.

Brittany Bowe, now her fiancée, is a distinguished speed skater with bronze medals from the 2018 and 2022 Olympics. Although she has yet to secure a medal at the 2026 Games, Bowe is gearing up to compete in the women’s 1500m race scheduled for Friday.

Bowe, now her fiancée, is a speed skater who won back-to-back bronze medals in the 2018 and 2022 Olympics. Bowe is competing at the 2026 Games, but has yet to medal. She is taking part in the women’s 1500m race on Friday.

The pair began dating after growing closer during the 2022 Games in Beijing.

“It was just a really good way to get to know her, going for walks, getting out of our suites,” Knight told Olympics.com. “To have that human connection, even walking outside at a distance, it was really cool.”

Knight and Bowe’s engagement is the second for Team USA at this year’s Games.

On Thursday, Feb. 12, Olympic gold medalist Breezy Johnson accepted a proposal from her longtime boyfriend Connor Watkins after her final event.

Watkins proposed to her near the finish line while surrounded by members of the U.S. Ski Team.

Reciting lyrics from the Taylor Swift song “Alchemy,” Watkins slipped a ring of blue and white sapphires set in white gold on the ring finger of Johnson’s left hand. She tearfully accepted, then turned the ring toward the sea of cameras to celebrate a dream that turned into reality.
