During the Trump administration’s attempts to address crime in Washington, D.C., a local church fell victim to vandalism, with rocks being thrown through its stained-glass windows in daylight hours.

The Metropolitan Police Department informed Fox News Digital that officers arrived at Mt. Olive Baptist Church on 6th Street Northeast shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Monday. They discovered that rocks had been used to damage the church’s windows.

A nearby vehicle also had damage to the front window, back window, and both mirrors.

By the time officers arrived, the suspect was gone, MPD said.

On top of the city’s 11 p.m. curfew for minors under 17, MPD announced a new “juvenile curfew zone” in the U Street corridor on Wednesday, located around three miles northwest of Capitol Hill.

In this designated zone, groups of nine or more minors are not allowed to congregate in public areas or on private properties, barring certain approved activities, the police department stated.

The curfew zone will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. through the weekend.

The “Juvenile Curfew Emergency Amendment Act of 2025” grants the Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department the power to establish a Juvenile Curfew Zone in parts of the city where there may be large gatherings of youths that could potentially threaten public safety, according to MPD’s statement.

Mt. Olive Baptist Church did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
