'KPop Demon Hunters' thrills at the box office for limited run

The worlds of Vans and “KPop Demon Hunters” collide in a vibrant new shoe collection that made its in-store debut on Friday, December 5, with an online launch set for Monday, December 8.

WASHINGTON — The collaboration between “KPop Demon Hunters,” a popular animated musical on Netflix, and the renowned American footwear and apparel brand Vans, introduces a unique line of shoes inspired by characters from the beloved series.

This collection seamlessly marries the distinct styles of both partners, incorporating iconic patterns and beloved characters from the movie, which has recently topped the charts in popularity.

A press release highlights that “Vans’ signature Checkerboard design graces the Classic Slip-On and Sk8-Hi models, while demon-themed patterns decorate the Old Skool, creating a harmonious fusion of both worlds.”

The collection features a variety of shoe styles, including the Vans Classic Slip-On, Old Skool, Old Skool V, and Sk8-Hi, available in sizes for both adults and kids.

Priced from $45 to $85, these shoes became available in physical stores on Friday and will be offered online starting Monday, December 8.

“KPop Demon Hunters” revolves around a fictional band called HUNTR/X made up of superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who protect their fans by slaying demons. 

It has become Netflix’s most-watched animated original film to date since its June 20 release and recently made history as the first soundtrack with four songs simultaneously on Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10, including “Golden” at No. 1, and has surpassed 7 billion global streams. It remains topping the charts months after the films release.
