Passengers onboard an American Airlines plane evacuated the aircraft from its wings after smoke was reported in the cabin upon landing in Georgia.
Passenger Sean O’Conor recorded a video that shows travelers carrying their luggage as they were assisted off the plane’s wing on Tuesday at Augusta Regional Airport.
“It smelled like something was burning, likely the brakes, and the cabin was filled with smoke, so we exited onto the wing,” a voice in the video remarks. “It seems that everyone is unharmed. Welcome to Augusta.”
American Airlines provided a statement to Fox News Digital, saying, “American Eagle Flight 5406, operated by PSA Airlines, traveling from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Augusta Regional Airport, encountered a maintenance issue after a safe landing in Augusta. All passengers disembarked and were led to the airport terminal. Ensuring the safety of our customers is our utmost concern, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

Following an inspection of the plane, it was determined that an electrical issue had caused the haze inside the cabin, WJBF reported, citing an airport spokesperson.
