Remarkable video footage has surfaced following the deployment of a riot squad to a residence in Sydney’s southern region on Friday night, where a 16-year-old’s birthday celebration was overrun by uninvited guests.
Authorities responded to a call around 7:15 p.m. regarding a substantial crowd of about 500 people who had crashed a party on Bounty Avenue in Kirrawee.
Social media clips captured the chaotic scene, with hundreds of teenagers flooding the street just as law enforcement arrived.
In dramatic scenes, officers were observed confronting an individual, forcefully restraining them on the ground while warding off others attempting to interfere.
As shown in the footage, partygoers were seen fleeing the area amid police efforts to clear the gathering.
The riot squad, assisted by police helicopters and ground officers, descended upon the scene to disperse the intruders, encountering resistance from a number of attendees.
Wild footage showed a police helicopter circling the Sydney suburb, with a spotlight projected onto the streets.
Police allege some gatecrashers threw bottles at officers, who were forced to deploy pepper spray.
It took more than an hour for officers to disperse the crowd.
Three 16-year-old boys were arrested but later released pending further inquiries.
“There were no reports of any injuries,” a police statement read.
Anyone who was in the area at the time, has dashcam or CCTV footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800-333-000.
