In Wauconda, Illinois, troubling news has emerged from the local high school, involving a career advisor accused of serious misconduct. Adam C. Faulkner, a 42-year-old staff member from the College of Lake County who offers college and career guidance at Wauconda High School, faces charges related to grooming and soliciting two students, according to police reports.
The investigation began on April 16 when allegations against Faulkner first came to light. In response, the College of Lake County swiftly placed Faulkner on administrative leave, ensuring he had no access to either the college or high school premises since that date.

The situation escalated on Thursday when authorities detained Faulkner during a traffic stop due to his driving on a revoked license. This arrest coincided with a search warrant execution at a residence, aided by Lake County’s K9 unit, Enzo. The police uncovered evidence suggesting Faulkner had engaged in inappropriate activities with two students from Wauconda High School.
Faulkner is now facing several grave charges, including two counts of Solicitation of Child Sexual Abuse Material, two counts of Grooming, and two counts of Indecent Solicitation of a Child. These charges underscore the severity of the accusations against the former career advisor.
In the wake of these developments, the College of Lake County has announced it will launch its own investigation into the matter. The institution’s commitment to a thorough inquiry reflects the gravity of the situation and its potential impact on the community.
CLC issued a statement, saying the college will conduct an investigation.
Police urged parents and guardians to speak with their students about any potential interaction with Faulkner and to come forward with any information by contacting the Wauconda Police Department Investigations Division at 847-865-0399.
