Chelsea Roland has been taken into custody on charges including two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, and reckless driving, among others.
YULEE, Fla. — A 27-year-old woman is facing arrest after a “road rage incident” on U.S. 17 in Yulee, where she allegedly fired shots at another car earlier this month, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.
Chelsea Roland is being charged with multiple offenses, such as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, firing a gun from a moving vehicle, reckless driving, and possessing a controlled substance, based on court documentation.
The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office reported that on September 11, their 911 center received calls from the supposed victims who claimed their vehicle had been shot at least three times.
Security footage from the victims’ car depicted Roland’s vehicle turning from State Road 200 onto U.S. 17, overtaking their car in the right lane as the road narrowed to a single lane.
Video then shows the suspect’s vehicle speed up toward the back of the victims’ car and cross into the southbound lane.
NCSO said the victims told deputies they heard gunshots and saw flashes from what appeared to be a gun being shot.
Deputies later intercepted Roland’s vehicle on the I-95 North on-ramp, where they engaged with her and discovered a handgun in her glove compartment.
According to NCSO, Roland has a bond of more than $50,000.
