This mom has got it going on.
When Cléo Souza’s daughter Alma was born, she aimed not only to regain her pre-baby physique but also to reconnect with her sense of self. To achieve this, she decided to invest several thousand dollars in surgery.
“I went through some very intense changes in my body after pregnancy,” she told NeedToKnow.
Although she lost some weight after giving birth, she still wasn’t satisfied with how her body looked.
While she was thankful for her body because “it had just brought life into the world,” she also experienced discomfort in areas such as sagging skin and a protruding belly button.
Consequently, Souza opted for breast implant replacement surgery to address the increased volume from breastfeeding and a mini-abdominoplasty to repair an umbilical hernia.
“The aesthetics of my abdomen were bothering me and the surgery fixed everything,” the new mom revealed.
“I never did it because of pressure. It was always for me.”
Souza also received several non-invasive treatments, such as Botox and hyaluronic acid injections on her face, and collagen bio-stimulators on both her face and butt.
“I also had PDO threads applied, both the smooth kind, which stimulate collagen, and lifting threads, which work like a mini facelift,” the mom explained.
“They’re subtle changes, but they make all the difference,” she told NeedToKnow.
Ultimately, Souza is thrilled with her decision and her new look.
“Motherhood has changed me deeply, but I needed to reconnect with the woman I’ve always been.”
“The procedures were a way to reconnect with who I am, to look in the mirror and see a stronger, more cared-for version of myself,” she added.
A woman feeling like herself again after giving birth is important — and these changes did exactly that for Souza.
“Today, I feel happier, more comfortable in my clothes, in my choices, and most importantly, in my own skin.”
“It was never about going back to who I was before but about stepping into this new phase with confidence,” she added.
And she believes this decision will positively affect her daughter in the long run.
“I know my daughter will grow up seeing her mother strong, confident and in control of her own story,” she said.
