Chicago officials are actively seeking a suspect allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of a woman during an attempted robbery over the weekend, amidst escalating crime rates in the city. President Trump has hinted at the possibility of deploying federal forces to address the situation.
The incident took place on the South Side of Chicago on Saturday night, resulting in the death of a 31-year-old woman who was shot in the chest, as reported by FOX 32.
Police were reportedly called to the scene around 8:40 p.m., where they encountered the woman with a gunshot wound.

Just two days later, a man dressed in all-black entered the same establishment and accessed an unauthorized area, proceeding to rummage through a woman’s purse. A 30-year-old female staff member attempted to intervene but was bodily thrown to the ground by the perpetrator, who then fled with the stolen items.
Authorities are still searching for both suspects.
“Small businesses in Chicago face daily challenges, and ensuring the safety of both staff and patrons is crucial,” stated the bar in a release cited by FOX 32. “The Dandy Crown plans to introduce security enhancements but calls for additional action by city officials.”
President Donald Trump had previously identified Chicago as a potential candidate for federal intervention due to its crime troubles, akin to the federal efforts seen in Washington, D.C.
The Chicago Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
