A BOY is fighting for his life after a car ploughed into a trampoline before launching into the air and smashing into a barn.

The terrifying crash happened in a quiet German town when a Volvo SUV veered off the road, tore through two hedges and hit the child with full force.

The vehicle, weighing two tons, became airborne and collided with the roof and wall of a nearby barn, ultimately coming to a halt three meters above the ground, embedded within the structure.

The garden was turned into ruins, with the trampoline mangled beyond recognition and several trees downed.

Cops in the Lower Saxony town of Bohmte said the seven-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries.

There were five people inside the black car, including three children aged 11, 12, and 13, Bild reports.

A 43-year-old female passenger was seriously injured, while the others sustained minor injuries.

The man reportedly behind the wheel is a 42-year-old from Osnabrück, according to German outlet Focus.

Emergency services swarmed the scene after Sunday’s horror crash.

A fire department spokesperson confirmed: “We were alerted around 8pm to an accident with several people trapped.”

The car was wedged in the wall of the barn at a height of about three meters when cops arrived at the scene.

But nobody was found inside the vehicle, and how they managed to free themselves at that height remains a mystery.

The car’s bizarre final position left even seasoned responders baffled, with the spokesperson adding it was a “very unusual operation”.

Early reports indicate that the SUV had crossed a street, disregarded a right-of-way, sped through a courtyard, and drove directly into the garden before becoming stuck in the building.

Roadside assistance services were called in to recover the wreckage.

One shocked worker told Bild: “The police informed us that the car was supposed to be on the first floor.

“You see a car in a ditch every day. But I’ve never experienced anything like this.”

Using two cranes, the team managed to extract the vehicle without causing further damage.

Police have since launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.

Early findings so far indicate that alcohol was not a factor.
