CHICAGO (WLS) — Yusef Jackson has been named the new president and CEO of Rainbow PUSH, as announced by the organization on Thursday. Yusef, the son of the late Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr., steps into the role following his father’s passing earlier this year.
Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. established Rainbow PUSH, leaving behind a legacy that deeply influenced social justice advocacy. His son, Yusef, expressed immense gratitude, saying, “I am deeply thankful to my father for his trust, guidance, and the inspiring example he set. His leadership and the imprint he left on our world are monumental. I had the honor of working beside him as he championed human rights and economic equality. His efforts in voter education and mobilization were transformative for our democracy.”

Prior to this new appointment, Yusef Jackson held the position of COO at Rainbow PUSH for two years, gaining valuable experience in organizational leadership.

Mrs. Jacqueline Jackson, reflecting on the transition, remarked, “This is a significant and introspective moment for our organization, blending reflection with renewed dedication. I am confident that Yusef, along with Rainbow PUSH’s leadership team, will continue to rally communities for justice, pursuing this mission with vigor and determination.”
