The nine-year-old boy hit a kerb while riding with his mother on Medic Street, Collie, yesterday afternoon.
Officers said the boy was wearing a helmet but suffered critical injuries and couldn’t be saved.
Collie’s deputy shire president, Ian Miffling, said the entire community was mourning the loss.
“Any little boy is precious in our community and if we lose one of them it’s just tragic for the whole community, let alone how the family are feeling,” he said.
“I mean it’s tragic for the family.”
