On Tuesday, the National Archives released declassified files related to the FBI’s surveillance of Civil Rights icon Martin Luther King Jr.
The Hill reported that the 243,000 pages include the FBI’s probe into the 1968 assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. His daughter, Bernice King, praised the release of these documents in a joint statement with her brother, Martin Luther King III, though she highlighted an urgent issue shortly thereafter.
“Now, do the Epstein files,” she wrote on X alongside a picture of her late father.

The publication of MLK Jr.’s FBI files occurs as the Trump Administration is under increasing pressure to disclose more information about Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein passed away in custody in 2019, and both the Justice Department and FBI stated earlier this month that he did not have a client list. The agencies also confirmed his death was by suicide.
On Tuesday, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said he plans to meet Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for grooming and abusing Epstein’s underage victims.
“I intend to meet with her soon. No one is above the law — and no lead is off-limits,” he wrote.
